Abstract
Bu araştırma, mastektomi sonrası meme rekonstrüksiyonu yapılan kadınlarda benlik saygısı ve sosyal görünüş kaygısı ilişkisini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel nitelikte yapılmıştır. Araştırma, Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi Atakent Hastanesi Estetik, Plastik ve Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi Kliniği' nde 15 Mart- 1 Mayıs 2019 tarihleri arasında, 18 yaş ve üzerinde olan, çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan, Türkçe konuşup anlaşabilen, herhangi bir psikiyatrik hastalığı olmayan 82 kadın hasta ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler anket formu, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği (RBSÖ) ve Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği (SGKÖ) ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde ortalama, standart sapma, medyan en düşük, en yüksek, frekans ve oran değerleri ile t testi, Kruskal Wallis testi, Man Whitney U testi ve Sperman Korelasyon kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan kadınların %51,2'si 43 yaş ve üzeri yaş grubunda, %70,7'si evli, %67,1'inin çocuğu var ve %51,2'si bir işte çalışmaktadır. Kadınların %54,9'u üniversite mezunu olduğunu ve %47,6'sı gelirinin giderinden fazla olduğunu belirtmiştir. Kadınların RBSÖ puan ortalaması 24,15±3,56 ve SGKÖ puan ortalaması 30,91±9,86 olarak bulunmuştur. Kadınların çalışma durumu ve öğrenim durumu ile RBSÖ puan ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Kadınların yaş grubu ve çocuğu olma durumu ile SGKÖ puan ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Kadınların hastalığın hangi evresinde ameliyat olduğu ve psikolojik desteğe ihtiyacı olma durumu ile RBSÖ puan ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Kadınların meme kanseri tanısı aldığı yaş, kemoterapi alma durumu ve hastalığın hangi evresinde ameliyat olduğu ile SGKÖ puan ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Çalışma sonucunda RBSÖ ve SGKÖ arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmamıştır (p>0,05). Anahtar Kelimeler: Meme rekonstrüksiyonu, Benlik saygısı, Sosyal görünüş kaygısı.
This research is a descriptive and cross-sectional study, which is carried out in order to determine the relationshıp between self-esteem and social appearance anxiety in women who had breast reconstruction after mastectomy. The research was conducted at Esthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinics of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Atakent Hospital between 15 March - 1 May 2019 with 82 female patients who were 18 or older, volunteer for the study, could sunderstand and speak Turkish and had no psychiatric diseases. The data were obtained through Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and Social Appearance Anxiety Scale (SAAS). For the analysis of data; average, standard deviation, median-smallest, median-biggest, frequency and ratio values as well as t test, Kruskal Wallis test, Man Whitney U test and Sperman Correlation were used. Of the women participating the study; 51,2% are at age 43 or above, 70,7% are married, 67,1% have kids and 51,2% are working in a job. 54.9% of the women said that they were university graduates and 47.6% stated that they had more income than their expenses. Average RSES point of the participants were found as 24,15±3,56 and their average SAAS point as 30,91±9,86. Statistically significant difference was found between the working and educational status of the women and their average RSES points (p<0,05). Statistically significant difference was found between the age group of the women and whether they have kids or not, and their average SAAS points (p<0,05). Statistically significant difference was found between at which stage of the disease the women had operation and their need for psychological support, and their average RSES points (p<0,05). Statistically significant difference was found between the age of women they had breast cancer diagnosis, whether they had chemotherapy or not and at which stage of the disease they had operation; and their average SAAS points (p<0,05). Following the study, no statistical significant difference was found between RSES and SAAS (p>0,05). Key Words: Breast reconstruction, Self-esteem, Social appearance anxiety.
