Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to research of the effects of the women's sexual myths over the dyadic adjustment and sexual satisfaction. In the study, women's level of belief in sexual myths, dyadic adjustment and sexual satisfaction have been examined according to age, education level, duration of relationship, spoken situation of sexuality in family and status of employment, as well. The research was conducted in descriptive comparative and relational model patterns. The quota sampling method was used in the research. 380 women from the city of İstanbul between the ages of 20-70 and who have a heterosexual relationship for more than 3 months, who are at least literate in Turkish and have no conditions requiring guardianship participated in the study. Demografic Information Form, Zilbelgerl Sexual Myths Scale, Gloombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale and Spainer Dyadic Adjustment Scale were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics of the sample were made in order to see the distribution of demographic (descriptive) information in the analysis of the data obtained. Since the distribution was normal, the t-test was applied to the data for comparisons between the means of the two independent groups, One-Way Analysis of Varience (ANOVA) was used for the analysis of the means of more than two groups, and Pearson Correlation Analysis was applied to determine the level of association. Statisical significance was measured with an error margin of 0,05. As a result of the study, it was found that women's belief in sexual myths, sexual satisfaction and marital adjustment differed significantly according to some demographic variables. Considering the total scores between the level of belief in sexual myths and dyadic adjustment, it does not seem significant. Between the level of belief in sexual myths and sexual satisfaction, only the sexual myths scale was significantly lower than the masturbation sub-dimension, and the relationship between the level of belief in sexual myths and sexual satisfaction was almost nonexistent (p> 0.05). Key Words: Level of Belief in SexualMyths, Dyadic Adjustment, Sexual Satisfaction
