Abstract
In this study, the relationships between eating attitude, perfectionism, physical self-definition, body liking and muscle deprivation were examined and it was investigated whether eating attitude, perfectionism, physical self-definition and body liking had predictive effects on muscle deprivation. This research also examined whether eating attitudes, perfectionism, physical self-definition, body liking and muscle deprivation levels differ according to gender, age, marital status, education level and income level. A quantitative research design and relational survey model were used in the study. The population of the research consists of individuals between the ages of 18-30 who do sports regularly in Turkey. The sample of the research consisted of 402 athletes selected from this universe using the convenience sampling technique. The data of the research was collected using survey forms. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS 26.0 program. According to the findings of the research, it was concluded that the perception of muscle deprivation differs significantly according to gender, age, education level and income level. It was found that the perception of muscle deprivation of individuals aged 18-30 who do regular sports was significantly predicted by the eating attitude scale with a varianca of 24.5%. However, it was concluded that only the effects of eating attitude on muscle deprivation were significant.
