Abstract
Bu çalışma, yaylı çalgılar ailesinde kullanılan farklı cila türleri ve uygulama tekniklerinin enstrümanların akustik özellikleri üzerindeki etkilerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Cilanın yalnızca estetik bir unsur olmadığı, aynı zamanda sesin gövdede yayılımı, titreşim iletimi, rezonans kalitesi ve dış etmenlere karşı koruyuculuğu üzerinde belirleyici olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu doğrultuda, özellikle yaylı çalgı üretiminde sıklıkla kullanılan ladin ağacı üzerine farklı cila uygulamaları gerçekleştirilmiş; cila öncesi ve sonrası ses analizleri yapılarak rezonans, ton kalitesi ve sesin uzama süresi (sustain) gibi akustik parametreler değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma, geleneksel ve modern cilalama yöntemleri arasındaki farkları ortaya koyarak, luthier ve enstrümancıların bilinçli tercihler yapmalarına yol göstermeyi hedeflemektedir.
This study aims to examine the effects of different types of varnishes and application techniques on the acoustic properties of instruments in the bowed string family. It is known that varnish is not merely an aesthetic element but also plays a crucial role in sound propagation across the body, vibration transmission, resonance quality, and protection against external factors. Accordingly, various varnish applications were carried out on spruce wood, which is commonly used in the production of bowed string instruments. By analyzing the sound both before and after varnishing, parameters such as resonance, tone quality, and sustain were evaluated. The research aims to highlight the differences between traditional and modern varnishing methods and to guide luthiers and musicians in making informed decisions.
