Abstract
This study aims to examine the portfolio of explosive materials to be used in industrial fields based on performance by minimising environmental effects such as thrusting of stones, dust formation and vibration by considering the structure of the rock, the features of the explosive materials and explosion design criteria in order to obtain an optimum result in terms of expenses and value. Thus, the explosive material performance and portfolio was accordingly examined and an extensive scan of literature was adapted as the basic research technique. Within this scope, initially data such as the characteristics of the explosive materials, the fields of usage and its importance has been presented and the effective factors were examined in order to be able to increase the explosive material and explosion performance to a maximum level. On the other hand, it has been concluded that the explosive material cost, considered to be an important criteria in choosing explosive materials, is actually described incorrectly thus it is foreseen that the total explosion cost needs to be defined in order to obtain an optimum result minimum total cost by recognizing the structural characteristics of the rock planned to be exploded and the characteristics of the explosive material very well. Ultimately, if cheap products and economical products are not distinguished very well it is probable that the products chosen because of being cheap may lead to greater expenses when the entire production process is considered.
