Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Örneklem grubu, rastgele örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak ''Kişisel Bilgi Formu'', ''Ebeveyn Cinsel Eğitim Tutum Ölçeği'' ve ''Etik Durum Ölçeği'' kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, ebeveynlerin etik durumlarıyla cinsel eğitime yönelik tutumları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Ebeveynlerin etik durumlarının idealizm alt boyutu ile cinsel eğitime yönelik tutumları arasında pozitif yönde ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ebeveynlerin çocuklarının cinsel eğitimine ilişkin tutumlarının çalışma durumu, gelir düzeyi, eğitim seviyesi ve aile yapısına göre farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Cinsel eğitimle ilgili eğitim alan ebeveynlerin daha olumlu tutum sergiledikleri ve idealizm puanlarının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma sonuçları, ebeveynlerin etik durum idealizm boyutunun, 3-6 yaş dönemindeki çocuklara verilecek cinsel eğitime yönelik olumlu tutumların geliştirilmesinde önemli bir rol oynadığını ortaya koymaktadır. Elde edilen bulgular, ebeveyn tutumlarıyla sosyo-demografik değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiye dair karşılaştırmalı veriler sunarak alana katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, 3-6 yaş çocuklarının cinsel gelişiminin sağlıklı bir şekilde desteklenmesi amacıyla ebeveynlere yönelik eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Etik durum, idealizm, cinsel eğitim, ebeveyn tutumu, 3-6 yaş.In this study where the relationship between ethical position (idealism and relativism) and attitude towards sex education of parents who have children aged 3-6 is analyzed, sampling consists of parents who reside in Istanbul and have at least one child who is within 3 to 6 years of age. Correlational survey model has been chosen among quantitative research methods. Random sampling method has been used when determining the survey group. Demographic Information Form, Parental Sexual Attitudes Scale and Ethics Position Questionnaire have been utilized as data collection tools. In the research, it has been observed that there is a relationship between parents' ethical position and their attitude towards sex education. A positive correlation has been observed between the idealism subdimension of the parents' ethical positioning and their attitude towards sex education. Parents' attitude towards sex education of their children are observed to differ according to their employment status, level of income, level of education and family structure. Parents who have been educated about sex education are observed to have a more positive attitude towards sex education and have a higher idealism score. The research has revealed that the parents' idealism score in their ethical position plays an important part in them developing a positive stance towards children aged 3-6 receiving sex education. Findings present comparative evidence on the relationship between parental attitudes and sociodemographic variables, therefore, makes an important contribution to the field. Results of the research point to the necessity of policy regulations and structured educational programs directed to parents for the healthy sexual development of children.
