Globalleşme ve teknolojik ilerlemeler, her iki sektörde de önemli değişikliklere yol açmıştır. Bu çalışma, sektörlerin ekonomik ve sosyal yapı üzerindeki etkilerini, istihdamdaki değişimleri ve bu değişimlerin temel itici güçlerini anlamaya yönelik bir girişimdir. Araştırmanın temeli, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) ve çeşitli sektörel raporlar gibi güvenilir veri kaynaklarından elde edilen istatistiksel verilere dayanmaktadır. Çalışma, nicel bir metodoloji kullanarak, ulaştırma ve konaklama sektörlerindeki istihdam sayılarındaki değişiklikleri deskriptif istatistikler, karşılaştırmalı analizler ve trend analizleri ile inceler. Bu analizler, sektörlerin büyüme oranlarını, istihdamdaki artış veya azalış trendlerini ve demografik değişiklikleri ortaya koymaktadır.Ulaştırma sektörü, teknolojik yenilikler ve artan global ticaret hacmi sayesinde önemli bir dönüşüm geçirmiştir. Bu dönüşüm, istihdam yapısında ve sektörün ekonomik katkısında belirgin değişikliklere yol açmıştır. Konaklama sektörü ise, küresel turizm eğilimlerindeki dalgalanmalar, teknolojik gelişmeler ve özellikle pandemi gibi olağanüstü durumlar karşısında adaptasyon yeteneği göstermiştir. Her iki sektörün de istihdam trendlerindeki bu değişimler, ekonomik büyüme, sosyal yapı ve bireysel yaşam kalitesi üzerinde önemli etkilere sahiptir. Çalışmanın bulguları, politika yapıcılar, sektör profesyonelleri ve akademisyenler için değerli içgörüler sunmaktadır. Ulaştırma ve konaklama sektörlerinin gelecekteki dinamiklerini anlamak, bu sektörlerdeki istihdam fırsatlarını maksimize etmek ve olası zorluklara karşı stratejiler geliştirmek açısından önemlidir. Ayrıca, teknolojik gelişmelerin ve makroekonomik faktörlerin sektörler üzerindeki etkilerini değerlendirerek, daha dayanıklı ve esnek bir ekonomik yapı inşa etmek için yol gösterici olabilir. Bu tez, ulaştırma ve konaklama sektörlerindeki istihdam trendlerini kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alarak, bu sektörlerin Türkiye ekonomisi ve toplumu üzerindeki etkilerini derinlemesine analiz etmektedir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, sektörlerin sürdürülebilir büyümesine ve istihdamın artırılmasına yönelik politika önerileri geliştirilmesine katkı sağlayacak niteliktedir. The advent of globalization and technological advancement has precipitated a profound transformation in both sectors. This study aims to comprehend the influences of these sectors on the economic and social structure, the shifts in employment, and the primary drivers behind these changes. The foundation of this research is based on statistical data sourced from reliable entities such as the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and various sectoral reports. The study employs a quantitative methodology to examine changes in employment numbers within the transportation and accommodation sectors. This is achieved through the use of descriptive statistics, comparative analyses, and trend analyses. These analyses reveal growth rates, trends in employment increases or decreases, and demographic shifts. The transportation sector has undergone a profound transformation as a consequence of technological innovations and the growth in global trade volumes. This transformation has resulted in notable alterations to the employment structure and the sector's economic contribution. The accommodation sector has demonstrated resilience in the face of fluctuations in global tourism trends, technological advancements, and extraordinary circumstances such as pandemics. The shifts in employment trends in both sectors have significant implications for economic growth, social structure, and individual quality of life. The findings of this study offer valuable insights for policymakers, industry professionals, and academics alike. It is of the utmost importance to gain an understanding of the future dynamics of the transportation and accommodation sectors, to identify ways of maximizing employment opportunities within these sectors, and to develop strategies against potential challenges. Moreover, an evaluation of the impact of technological advancements and macroeconomic factors on these sectors can inform the construction of a more resilient and flexible economic structure. This thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the employment trends in the transportation and accommodation sectors, examining their effects on the Turkish economy and society in depth. The results contribute to policy recommendations aimed at sustainable growth and increased employment in these sectors. Furthermore, the research establishes a foundation for future studies, demonstrating the applicability of similar analyses in other countries or different time periods.
