Emerging economies that are wishing to take advantage of the power of innovation should have a competent workforce. Because, companies are seeking employees with new skills such as analytical thinking or problem solving in the new industrial revolution. Therefore, innovation competencies of individuals will be one of the skill set to reach the goal of sustainable growth through innovation. This research aims to identify the impact of personality traits on innovation competencies of individuals. The hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to examine relationship between the innovation competency model developed through Framework for Innovation Competencies Development and Assessment (FINCODA) EU project and big five personality traits. Results indicate that openness, conscientiousness, extraversion and neuroticism are relevant with individual innovation competencies.
