Çözümlemede, yazarın kurguladığı karakterlerin ağzından hikâyeye aktardığı dörtlüklerin, benzetmelerin, mecazi ifadelerin, şarkıların ve uydurma kelimelerin aktarımlarında izlenen stratejiler inceleniyor. Ayrıca hikâyenin genelinde yer alan gündelik dil ve aşağılayıcı dil kullanımı, deyimler, ünlemler, yansıma sesler, yiyecek isimler ve özel isimlerin çevirileri de incelenerek çevirmen kararları karşılaştırılıyor. Hikâye uzayda geçtiğinden uzaylı canlılara atfedilmiş orijinal isimler ile uzay temasına ve kahramanların karakteristik yapılarına paralel dil oyunları sıkça görülür. İncelemede, yeniden çeviri varsayımı ile Gideon Toury'nin Erek Odaklı Yaklaşımı'nda yer verdiği 'norm' kavramından faydalanılacaktır.This study comparatively analyzes the Turkish translations of Roald Dahl's novel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, within the framework of the retranslation hypothesis. The study focuses on the strategies followed during the Turkish translation of rhymes, stanzas, metaphors, figurative expressions, lyrics, neologisms, which are conveyed to the readers through the characters fictionalized by the author. Furthermore, the study examines the Turkish translations of some colloquial speeches, pejorative expressions, idioms, interjections, onomatopoeia, food items, and proper names in terms of translators' decisions. The use of language in the novel varies a lot in parallel with the characteristics of the characters and the space theme, and some original names given to so-called aliens are seen, as the story takes place in space.
