Conference Object Citation Count: 22Assessment of a Multidimensional Job Satisfaction Instrument(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Özpehlivan, Murat; Acar, A. Zafer; Uluslararası Lojistik ve Taşımacılık / International Logistics and TransportationThe job satisfaction concept has been attracting the attention of researchers and executives because of its influence on individuals' behaviour. The individual's behaviours are shaping organizational behaviours through groups within the organization and the organizational culture. The effects of job satisfaction on the different organizational behaviours have been tested and proven in myriad researches but using different methods and measurement instrument including various dimensions show us that there is no certain consensus of measuring at least basic components of this concept. This study aims to fill this gap through conceptualizing, measuring the concept on basic and necessary factors and developing a multidimensional job satisfaction measurement instrument by considering cultural affect. The questionnaires that using only by translating from another countries or cultures and if their cultural differences are not taken into account then obtained results may not give us accurate values and damages the validity of the scales. We established a scale incorporating six dimensions of job satisfaction. 699 data were then collected from Turkey and Russia's well-known businessmen associations in textile field and analysed through confirmatory factor analysis to assess validity and reliability. As a result, we have attempted to contribute to business executives and academics by providing a multidimensional job satisfaction scale.Conference Object Citation Count: 14Competition between Full Service Network Carriers and Low Cost Carriers in Turkish Airline Market(Elsevier Science Bv, 2015) Acar, A. Zafer; Uluslararası Lojistik ve Taşımacılık / International Logistics and TransportationPioneer studies towards the definition of the concept of job satisfaction are based on the beginning of the 20th century. Since its presentation, this concept has been attracting the attention of researchers and executives because of its influence on individuals' behaviour in organizations. The effects of job satisfaction on the various concepts has been tested and proven in myriad researches. However using diverse measurement instruments including many different dimensions show us that there is no certain consensus of measuring at least basic components of this concept. Today, much of the used questionnaires coming from the developing countries and reflecting the employee behaviour of Anglo-Saxon cultures. By translating those questionnaires without considering their cultural differences, of course, may not give us accurate results and damaging the validity of the scales. This study aims to fill this gap by measuring the concept on the basic and necessary factors, and developing a multidimensional job satisfaction scale reckoning with cultural effect. As a consequence of our extensive literature scanning, we established a scale incorporating six dimensions of job satisfaction concept. 699 data were collected from Turkish and Russian well-known businessmen associations in textile field and analysed through confirmatory factor analysis to assess validity and reliability. The data that obtained generally from the SMEs and basically/mentally from two different developing countries forefront the cross-cultural dimension of the research. As a result of the analysis, we have attempted to contribute to business executives and academics by providing a multidimensional job satisfaction scale.Conference Object Citation Count: 14The effects of customer and entrepreneurial orientations on individual service performance in banking sector(Elsevier Science Bv, 2013) Acar, A. Zafer; Onden, Ismail; Kara, KarahanReverse logistics network problems are accepted as sophisticated research areas in the existing literature due to difficulties of the prediction of the material flow in the network and the conflicting objectives of minimizing total cost and energy consumption while maximizing customer satisfaction and control of the pollution. There are different approaches to dealing with the difficulties of the problem, yet these approaches overlook the geographical aspect of the issues. In this paper, a reversed network of a governmental organization is evaluated. A methodology is proposed that integrates Analytic Hierarchy Process, Geographic Information Systems and integer programming to determine the locations of the return centers and to deal with the complicated structure. Population, airport locations, maritime facilities, railroad lines and highway lines are accepted as the decision criteria. Based on these decision criteria, suitability levels of the candidate cities are calculated. A closed-loop supply chain is taken into consideration and reverse functions of the chain are evaluated with the proposed methodology. Finally, the locations of regional return centers are determined.Article Citation Count: 13Farklı Örgüt Kültürü Tipleri ve Liderlik Tarzları ile Örgütsel Bağlılık Arasındaki İlişki: Lojistik İşletmelerinde Bir Araştırma(2013) Acar, A. For this aim, a conceptual framework was developed and it was applied to region's spesific conditions as a case study. During the study, both of quantitative and qualitative methods were used together to support each other. Focus group study, location quotient calculation and a survey application are among the techniques utilized. Based on the cumulative results obtained, cluster structure exists in the region and it is beneficial for the regions's competitiveness.
