Abstract
Katılımcıların 18-65 yaş aralığında olup 1637'si kadın, 335'i erkektir.
With the development of modern technology and the use of the internet in every area of our lives people have started to demand online diets, and due to the time-saving aspect and the ease of calculating the calories of food and drink this method of diet management has become more popular. Many of the obvious problems that patients suffer from, for example eating attitude and behavior problems which have gone on for years, can also be observed in online patients. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between adults who apply for diets from the internet who have eating attitude disorders and their weight. The study was carried out from 31 January 2015 – 07 July 2015, and the participants were adults who applied to an internet website to receive a diet. 1,972 participants age between 18-65 years were included in the study. 1,637 of the participants were women, and 335 were men. The average weight was 72.65±0.374 kg. The existing BMI index was 26.1±0.115 kg/m2. The participants were sent online questionnaires, which they were asked to fill out. The questionnaire consisted of 3 parts: General Information, Eating Attitude Test 40 (EAT) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). In the study a positive correlation between EAT 40 and BDI was found (the coefficient of the correlation was +0.782). When the participants in the study are examined from the aspect of being at risk for an eating attitude disorder it can be seen that 44.7% (882 people) were at low risk, while 35.7% (701 people) were at medium risk and 19.8% (390 people) were at high risk. No statistically significant difference could be found between the weight averages and the points that the participants received on the eating attitude test (p>0,05).
