Hızlı moda sektöründe sürdürülebilirlik kavramının giyim tasarımına etkileri

Abstract

Sanayileşme, teknolojide yaşanan gelişme, nüfus artışı ve küreselleşme gibi dünya tarihi açısından önemli olaylar üretim ve tüketim artışına neden olmuş ve bu durum doğal kaynakların, çevrenin, bitkilerin ve hayvanların yok edilmesinde sakınca görülmeyen değersiz ve sınırsız metalar olarak görülmesine yol açmıştır. Gelinen noktada yalnızca doğal kaynaklar ve çevre değil insan sağlığının da hoyratça kullanıldığı bir durum ortaya çıkmıştır. Hızlı tüketim ise sınırlı doğal kaynaklar ve ekosistem üzerinde baskı oluşturmuştur. Hızlı tüketim anlayışı ile birlikte üretiminde bol miktarda kimyasal madde ve su kullanımı, kaynakların sınırsızmış gibi tüketilerek atıkların doğaya salınması, hava, su, toprak gibi hayati açıdan oldukça önemli kaynaklara zarar vermiş ve dünyanın sürdürülebilirliğini olumsuz etkilemiştir. Bu durum sürdürülebilirliği dünya kamuoyunun en temel gündem maddelerinden biri haline getirmiştir. İnsanın en temel ihtiyaçlarından birisi olan giyinme ihtiyacını karşılayan ürünlerin üretildiği moda ve tekstil sektörü de çevre ve insan sağlığını gözeterek sürdürülebilir kalkınmayı önceleyen faaliyetlere yoğunlaşmıştır. Bu çalışma da hızlı moda sektöründe sürdürülebilirlik kavramının giysi tasarımına etkilerini araştırmaktadır. Araştırmada sektörden örnek uygulamalardan biri Türk bir markanın elma kabuğundan deri üretip koleksiyon oluşturması ve sürdürülebilir giysi tasarımı alanında başarı elde etmiş firma yetkilisi ve tasarımcısıyla yapılan röportaj ile tüketicilerde ve üreticilerde farkındalık uyandırmak, sürdürülebilir modaya dikkat çekmek ve sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya katkı sağlamak hedeflenmektedir.Important events in terms of world history such as industrialization, development in technology, population growth and globalization have caused an increase in production and consumption, and this has led to the perception of natural resources as worthless and unlimited commodities that can not be harmed by the destruction of the environment, plants and animals. At this point, a situation has emerged where not only natural resources and the environment, but also human health is used rudely. Rapid consumption, which is a result of this situation, has put pressure on limited natural resources and ecosystem. Along with the understanding of fast consumption, the use of abundant chemicals and water in production, the consumption of resources as if they are unlimited and the release of wastes to nature have damaged vitally important resources such as air, water and soil and adversely affected the sustainability of the world. This situation has made sustainability one of the most basic agenda items of the world public opinion. The fashion and textile sector, where products that meet the need for dressing, which is one of the most basic needs of people, are produced, also focused on activities that prioritize sustainable development by considering the environment and human health. This study also investigates the effects of the concept of sustainability on clothing design in the fast fashion industry. In the research, it is aimed to raise awareness in consumers and manufacturers, to draw attention to sustainable fashion and to contribute to sustainable development, through an interview with a company representative and designer who has achieved success in the field of sustainable clothing design with exemplary practices from the sector.
