Abstract

Background In today's digital era, understanding the expectations of white-collar employees from the HR department during the digitalization process significantly impacts the digital transformation of businesses.Objective This study examines white-collar employees' expectations from the HR department in the digitalization process.Methods In this study, qualitative research methods were utilized and three focus group interviews were conducted with 20 white-collar employees of the same company. The data was analyzed by thematic analysis using MAXQDA 2018 qualitative data analysis program.Results White-collar employees' expectations were divided into five main themes: providing training on technology use, updating recruitment criteria, preparing the company for digitalization, encouraging technology use, and determining the appropriateness of technology.Conclusions This study can lead the HR department to learn the expectations of white-collar employees in the digitalization process and accelerate the digitalization process by taking on new roles.
