Abstract
Bu araştırmada, İstanbul ili Beyoğlu ilçesinde bulunan özel ortaöğretim kurumları okul müdürlerinin dönüşümcü liderlik davranışları ile öğretmenlerin işlerini anlamlı bulma düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi üzerine çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ili Beyoğlu ilçesindeki liselerdeki öğretmenler, Çalışma evrenini ise bu ilçedeki özel liselerde çalışan 513 öğretmen oluşturmuştur. Araştırma çalışma evreni üzerinde yapılmış, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 403 öğretmene ölçek uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizi geriye dönen 304 ölçek üzerinden yapılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında Dönüşümcü Liderlik Ölçeği ile Öğretmenlere Göre İşin Anlamlılığı Ölçeklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Ölçeklerden elede edşlen veriler SPSS program kullanılarak aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi ve tek yönlü ANOVA teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesi ve analizi sonucunda; öğretmenlerin okul müdürlerinin dönüşümcü liderlik özelliklerini 'kesinlikle katılıyorum' düzeyinde algıladıkları belirlenmiştir. Öte yandan okul müdürlerinin dönüşümcü liderlik düzeylerinin farklı alt boyutlarına yönelik algılarında yaş değişkeni hariç; cinsiyet, kıdem, eğitim düzeyi, medeni durum ve okul türü değişkenlerinde öğretmen algıları arasında istatistiksel bakımdan anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. İşin anlamlılığı değişkeni için yapılan betimsel analizler neticesinde tüm öğretmenlerin işlerini anlamlı buldukları ve Tanınma boyutu hariç diğer tüm boyutlarda işlerini anlamlı bulma bakımından 'Tamamen Katılıyorum' düzeyinde görüş belirttikleri, Tanınma boyutunda ise 'Büyük Ölçüde Katılıyorum' görüşünde oldukları görülmüştür. Demografik değişkenler bakımından iş anlamlılığına ilişkin öğretmen algıları arasında istatistiksel bakımdan anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığını belirlemeye yönelik yapılan analizler sonucunda; farklı alt boyutlara ilişkin algılar arasında tüm demografik özellikler bakımından anlamlı farklılık olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Diğer yandan araştırmanın temel amacına yönelik olarak yapılan analizde, öğretmenlerin algılarına göre müdürlerin dönüşümcü liderlik alt boyutlarından ideal etki alt boyutu ile iş anlamlılığı alt boyutlarının tümü arasında orta düzeyde pozitif bir ilişki olduğu; dönüşümcü liderlik alt boyutlarından telkinle güdüleme ile iş anlamlılığının mesleki gelişim, özerklik ve sosyal ilişkiler alt boyutları arasında düşük düzeyde pozitif, işle bütünleşme alt boyutu arasında ise yüksek düzeyde pozitif bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yine dönüşümcü liderlik alt boyutlarından Entelektüel Uyarım alt boyutu ile iş anlamlılığı alt boyutlarının tümü arasında düşük düzeyde pozitif yönlü; benzer bir biçimde, dönüşümcü liderlik alt boyutlarından Bireysel Destek alt boyutu ile iş anlamlılığı alt boyutlarının tümü arasında düşük düzeyde pozitif yönlü bir ilişki ortaya çıkmıştır.
In this study, it was studied to examine the relationship between the transformational leadership behaviors of school principals of private secondary education institutions in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul and the level of teachers' finding their jobs meaningful. The universe of the research consists of teachers in high schools in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, and the study population consists of 513 teachers working in private high schools in this district. The research was carried out on the study universe, and the scale was applied to 403 teachers who agreed to participate in the research. The analysis of the data was made on 304 returning scales. The Transformational Leadership Scale and the Meaningfulness of Work According to Teachers Scales were used to collect the data. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed using the SPSS program, using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA techniques. As a result of the analysis and analysis of the data; It has been determined that teachers perceive the transformational leadership characteristics of school principals at the level of 'strongly agree'. On the other hand, in the perceptions of school principals about different sub-dimensions of transformational leadership levels, excluding the age variable; A statistically significant difference was found between teacher perceptions in gender, seniority, education level, marital status and school type variables. As a result of the descriptive analyzes made for the meaningfulness of the job variable, it was seen that all the teachers found their work meaningful and they expressed an opinion at the level of 'Totally Agree' in terms of finding their work meaningful in all dimensions except the dimension of Recognition, and of the opinion of 'I strongly agree' in the dimension of Recognition. As a result of the analyzes carried out to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between teachers' perceptions of job meaningfulness in terms of demographic variables; It has been revealed that there is a significant difference between the perceptions of different sub-dimensions in terms of all demographic characteristics. On the other hand, in the analysis made for the main purpose of the research, it was found that there was a moderate positive relationship between the ideal effect sub-dimension of the principals' transformational leadership sub-dimensions and all of the business meaningfulness sub-dimensions, according to teachers' perceptions; It has been determined that there is a low-level positive relationship between the sub-dimensions of transformational leadership, suggestive motivation and the professional development, autonomy and social relations sub-dimensions of business meaningfulness, and a high-level positive relationship between the sub-dimension of work integration. Again, there is a low level of positive correlation between the Intellectual Stimulation sub-dimension, which is one of the transformational leadership sub-dimensions, and all of the business meaningfulness sub-dimensions; Similarly, a low-level positive relationship emerged between the Individual Support sub-dimension, one of the transformational leadership sub-dimensions, and all of the business meaningfulness sub-dimensions.
