Abstract
Unemplayment is a big problem in our country as it is in most other countries. The increase of unemplayment data in Turkey over the years, can cause stress in individuals, especially in college students who do not even have any business experience. On the other hand, this study bases on the eating attitude and behavior, which is a problem for vital functions in its disorder and how it is affected by this stress. SocioDemographic Information Form, Korean Career Stress Inventory (KCSI), Perceived Stress Scale and Eating Attitude Test is used as data collection tools in the study. Perceived Stress Scale is used to determine whether it is in parallel with the Korean Career Stress Inventory. 202 from İstanbul, 102 from Kayseri and 102 from Karabük, a total of 406 university students are included in the study. At the and of the study, a statistically significant, positive relation is found between Perceived Stress Scale and Korean Career Stress Inventory and between Korean Career Stress Inventory and Eating Attitude Test. However, no relation is found between Perceived Stress Scale and Eating Attitude Test. Within the scepe of this study, not only the factors of gender, age, marital status, the city where they study, the type of school, the level of family inceme, relationship of the parents, family attitudes, whether there is a psychiatric diagnosis or not, whether there is a physical illness or not, childhood trauma and work experience, which take place in Demographic Information Form, but also with these, the relationship among Korean Career Stress Inventory (KCSI), Perceived Stress Scale and Eating Attitude Test are examined. While there is a significant difference between Perceived Stress Scale and the city where the univesity is studied, psychiatric diagnosis, childhood trauma and family attitudes; a significant difference is found between the Korean Career Stress Inventory and the city where the university is studied, the income level of the family and the work experience related to its department. A significant difference is found between gender, age, school type variables and ''Inability to Find a Job'' which is only the sub-scale of Korean Career Stress Inventory. As a result, it is very important to focus on career stress during these times, when unemplayment has increased. As it is seen in this study, where we have found a positive relationship between eating attitudes and behaviours and career stress, it should not be overlooked that career stress can cause many ailments.
