Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the 'Relationship between Gender and Occupation Perception in Working and Non-Working Women'. People are born with their gender. Gender, on the other hand, is related to the stereotypes developed by the culture, environment, family and society in which people live. Transformation of gender into gender; It is directly related to the culture's expectations and perceptions about that gender. Gender, which is the cause of the first difference and distinction in our social life; It is the primary factor that affects physical characteristics, individual perception, expectations of society and orientation to their professions. Although the social judgments we are included in as individuals differentiate their expectations from the sexes with their unique cultural dynamics, different behaviors and roles are expected from men and women in more than one culture. These diversities, which have developed with social attributions, can also affect a person's career choice. The roles attributed to gender have also separated the occupations where men and women can turn to the jobs they have done. These distinctions made on the basis of gender have caused some professions to be perceived as women's professions and others as men's professions. In line with this research we have done, we investigated how the gender phenomenon affects the perception of profession of working and non-working women. Within the scope of the research, education, marital status, age, income status, etc. We tried to clarify the issue with variables. According to the answers given by 424 people participating in the research sample, it was concluded that the factors that most affect the perception of profession of working and unemployed women are family and income.
