Abstract
Çalışmamızda sağlıklı geriatrik bireylerde Frenkel'in Stabilizasyon Egzersizlerinin denge, fiziksel performans ve düşme korkusu üzerine etkilerini araştırılmaktır. Sonuç olarak, Frenkel'in Stabilizasyon Egzersizleri geriatrik bireylerin dengelerini, fiziksel performanslarının geliştirirken, düşme korkusunu azaltmıştır. Geriatrik rehabilitasyonda güvenle kullanılabilir.
The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of Frankel's Stabilization Exercises on balance, physical performance and fear of falling in healthy geriatric individuals. The study was carried out in the Physical Therapy Unit of the Sancaktepe Bölge Hospital on 20 individuals over the age of 65 who did not have a serious systemic disease that would prevent them from exercising. After obtaining the demographic information of all individuals, their balance was evaluated with the Tinetti Balance and Gait Test (TBGT), their physical performance was evaluated with the Alusti Test (AT) and the fear of falling was evaluated with the International Fall Efficiency Scale (FES-I). Frenkel Stabilization exercises were applied to the participants accompanied by a physiotherapist for 20 days. Evaluations were made before and after the exercise program. 10 women and 10 men with an average age of 72.65±6.42 participated in the study. When the pre-treatment and post-treatment parameters were compared, significant differences were found in TBGT, AT and FES-I scores (p<0.05). Dividing into groups according to gender, TBGT score and FES-I improved faster in women than in men after exercise (p<0.05). As a result, Frenkel's Stabilization Exercises improved the balance and physical performance of geriatric individuals and reduced the fear of falling. It can be used safely in geriatric rehabilitation.
