Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı yetişkin bireylerde günlük hayatta yapılan fiziksel aktivite ile algılanan stres düzeyi ilişkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya İzmit Kent 2 Sitesi'nde oturan 18 yaş üstü 240 kişi dahil edildi. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Ölçeği ve Algılan Stres Ölçeği ile toplandı. Veriler IBM SPSS 24.0 versiyon istatistik programında analiz edildi.
This research aims to examine the effect of physical activities in daily life on perceived stress levels. Two hundred forty people 18-year-old living in Izmit City 2 Site participated in the study. Data were collected with Personal Information Form, International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) and Perceived Stress Scale. The data were processed in SPSS 24.0 version statistical program. It was observed that 27.5% (n=66) of the participants did physical activity regularly. It was determined that there was a statistically significant positive correlation at the level of 0.198 between the participants' PSS Total scores and their Total MET values (r=0.198, p=0.002). It was observed that regular physical activities also reduced the perceived stress level in a positive way. No statistically significant difference was found in terms of AFA, OFA, Walking, Sitting MET values according to the regular physical activity status of the participants (p>0.05). It was determined that there was no significant difference between the rates of performing AFA, OFA, Walking, and Sitting activities. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in terms of Total MET values according to the regular physical activity status of the participants (p=0.038). If we look at the least preferred activity from the most preferred activity in all regular physical activities, sitting, walking, OFA, and AFA exercises were preferred, respectively. As a result; in order to reduce stress levels, it is recommended to provide public health awareness training on stress management, the disadvantages of harmful habits and the benefits of regular physical activity. Keywords: Perceived Stress Level, Physical activity, Walking, Sitting.
