Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effects of time management skills on job satisfaction of nurses working in an internal medicine clinic and to reveal the relationship between them. For this purpose, the research was conducted with a total of 268 nurses working in public (population: 623) and private (population: 149) hospital using the descriptive model, which is one of the most frequently used methods among quantitative research methods. The data obtained were analyzed in the SPSS 22 package program and according to the results, the time planning and time attitude levels of nurses working in internal medicine clinics were moderate, their time wasting factors were low and their job satisfaction levels were low. In addition, there is a positive significant relationship between time management attitudes and job satisfaction, and the number of monthly patients per nurse, taking part in additional procedures, implementation of a care plan, the number of monthly shifts and the number of treatments per day have a significant effect on time management attitudes and job satisfaction. It was determined that it did not make any difference. Finally, in the study, a significant difference was detected between the levels of nurses working in public and private hospitals in total and all sub-dimensions, except for job satisfaction and time-wasting factors from the time management sub-dimensions. In light of the results obtained, it was understood that training and development programs should be organized for internal medicine nurses. In order to ensure workload balance, a fair patient and shift planning should be made and overwork and long shifts should be avoided. It is important to establish open and effective communication channels and to hold regular individual meetings to understand and support emotional needs. Professional development of nurses should be supported and improvement processes should be initiated by holding regular feedback meetings.
