Abstract
Bu araştırma, sağlık çalışanlarında sigara kullanımı ve bazı özelliklerinin sigara bağımlığına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tanımlayıcı nitelikteki bu araştırma İstanbul'da bir kamu hastanesinde 01.03.2022-30.06.2022 tarihleri arasında 126 sağlık çalışanı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri anket bilgi formu ve Sigaranın Psikolojik Bağımlılığının Değerlendirilmesi Testi kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan sağlık çalışanlarının %23'ü hemşire, %18,3'ü tekniker ve %11,9'u ise hekimdir. Katılımcıların büyük bir çoğunluğunun (%63,5) 5 yıl ve üzeri toplam çalışma süresine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışmaya katılan sağlık çalışanlarının %43,7'si sigara içmekte iken %6,3'ü ise bırakmış durumdadır. Sigara içenler içinde %41,8'i günlük 10-20 adet sigara içtiklerini belirtmişlerdir. Sigaranın Psikolojik Bağımlılığının Değerlendirilmesi Testi (SPBDT) bulgularına göre araştırmaya katılan ve sigara içen sağlık çalışanların ortalaması 15,56±2,87 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu değer ölçeğin yönergesine göre orta bağımlı aralığında yer almaktadır. SPBDT ölçeği bulgularına göre hafif, orta ve ciddi bağımlı kategorileri dağılımlarına göre sağlık çalışanlarının %69,5'i orta bağımlı grubunda, %23,6'sı hafif bağımlı ve %7,3'ü ise ciddi bağımlı grubunda yer almaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular sağlık çalışanlarında sigara bağımlılığını azaltmada uygulanacak adımların belirlenmesinde karar vericilere katkı sağlayacak ve sağlık çalışanlarında farkındalık yaratabilecektir. This research was planned to examine the effects of smoking and some of its characteristics on smoking addiction in healthcare workers. This descriptive study was conducted in a public hospital in Istanbul between 01.03.2022 and 30.06.2022 with 126 healthcare professionals. The research data were collected using the questionnaire information form and the Evaluation of Psychological Dependence of Smoking Test. It was determined that 23% of the health workers participating in the research are nurses, 18.3% are technicians and 11.9% are physicians. It was determined that the majority of the participants (63.5%) had a total working time of 5 years or more. While 43.7% of the health workers participating in the study smoke, 6.3% have quit. Among smokers, 41.8% stated that they smoke 10-20 cigarettes per day. 41.3% of health workers said that they smoke to comply with friends. Finally, 65.5% of the health professionals participating in the research stated that they spend between 0-500 TL on cigarettes monthly. According to the SPBDT scale findings, the average of the health workers who participated in the study and smoked was found to be 15.56. This value is in the middle dependent range according to the scale's instruction. According to the SPBDT scale findings, according to the distribution of mild, moderate and severe dependent categories, 69% were in the moderately dependent group, 23.6% were in the mildly dependent group and 7.3% were in the severely dependent group. The findings obtained as a result of the research will contribute to the decision makers in determining the methods to be applied in reducing smoking addiction in health care workers and will raise awareness among health workers.
