Abstract
This research has been carried out in order to determine the relationship between level of anxiety and fear of Covid among women who receive an infertility treatment during pandemics. The research is descriptive and cross-sectional, and samples consist of 150 infertile female patients who applied to the Kocaeli University Hospital IVF Unit and Gynecology Policlinic between 01/10/2020 - 31/12/2020. The research data have been obtained by means of a Demographical Question Form, Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV) and Anxiety Intensity Scale. At the end of the research, the mean of ages of women has been found as 31,54± 5,94 according to their Socio-Demographic characteristics, the mean of Anxiety Intensity Scale of Women has been found as 7,09±5,33 and the mean of Fear of COVID-19 Scale has been found as 18,70±3,93. There has been a positive weak relationship between the mean of Anxiety Intensity Scale of Women and the mean of Fear of COVID-19 Scale (p<0,05). So, the more women have fear of COVID-19, the more they have anxiety intensity. Due to the COVID-19 pandemics, guidelines are prepared by national and international organizations related to infertility and assisted reproductive techniques and services and necessary measures to be taken are announced. In all these guidelines, it has been decided that cycles that have been started should be completed and all the treatment procedures except for patients with low ovarian reserve and oncological patients should be postponed. It is emphasized that possible modes of transmission of COVID-19 have not been completely defined and the effect of the virus on pregnancy, delivery and fetus has not been known exactly. It is needed to provide trainings for health professionals about fight against pandemics and protection methods, and provide psychological support for infertile couples in order for them to be affected minimally in such an uncertain environment.
