Abstract
Bu çalışma, pediatri hemşirelerinin mülteci çocuklara bakım verme deneyimlerini araştırmak amacıyla fenomenolojik tipte yapılmıştır. Çalışma Kasım 2023- Şubat 2024 tarihleri arasında, İstanbul'da bulunan Prof.Dr.
This study was aimed in a phenomenological type to investigate the experiences of pediatric nurses in caring for refugee children. The study was conducted between November 2023 and February 2024 in Istanbul Prof.Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital Pediatric Clinics' wards with pediatric nurses working in the inpatient services who agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected by face-to-face interview technique and simultaneously voice recording. After reviewing the data, MAXQDA 2022 program was used for coding, creating themes, and analyzing the relationship of codes and sub-codes. The interviews with the nurses revealed the themes of the care process, patient-related difficulties, communication methods, risks to patient safety, emotions experienced when there is no communication, and suggestions through their sharing. Loss of time, difficulties in communication and education, difficulties arising from cultural practices, using body language, wrong practices regarding patient safety, sadness and fatigue experienced when there is no communication, and the need for compulsory Turkish language education are the main codes and sub-codes obtained from the themes. As a result of the study, it was determined that pediatric nurses had communication problems regarding refugee children's care. Comprehensive research needs to be conducted on this subject, examining the problems in depth and producing solution suggestions.
