Türkiye'de eşcinsellerin açılma süreçlerine etki eden faktörlerin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, eşcinsel bireylerde açılma süreci ve kendini açma düzeyleri ile benlik saygısı, ebeveyn kabul-reddi, algılanan sosyal destek ve içselleştirilmiş homofobi arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya Türkiye'nin çeşitli illerinde yaşayan 18 yaşından büyük 741 eşcinsel gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. 266 lezbiyen (%35.9) ve 475 gey (%64.1) katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın katılımcılarının yaş ortalaması 24.7 (SS= 5.97)'dir. Araştırmada veri toplama amacıyla Kendini Açma Ölçeği, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği, Yetişkin Ebeveyn Kabul-Red Ölçeği – Kısa Form, İçselleştirilmiş Homofobi Ölçeği ve araştırmacı ile danışman tarafından hazırlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Toplanan veriler SPSS 26 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde t testi, varyans analizi, korelasyon ve regresyon teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre eşcinsel bireylerin benlik saygısı ve içselleştirilmiş homofobi düzeyleri cinsel yönelim ve geçim durumuna göre farklılaşmaktadır. Açıldıkları grup sayısı ve kendini açma düzeyleri ise benlik saygısı, algıladıkları sosyal destek ve içselleştirilmiş homofobi düzeyleri tarafından yordanmaktadır. Son bölümde araştırmanın tüm bulguları detaylı bir biçimde tartışılmış olup; araştırmanın sınırlılıkları ve gelecek çalışmalar için öneriler üzerinde durulmuştur.

The aim of this study was to investigate the association between coming-out process, level of self-disclosure and self-esteem, parental acceptance-rejection, perceived social support, internalized homophobia in homosexual individuals. 741 homosexuals over the age of 18 living in various provinces of Turkey participated in the research voluntarily. The median age of the participants of this study, which was carried out with 266 lesbian (%35.9) and 475 gay (%64.1) participants, is 25. Self-Disclosure Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale, Adult Parental Acceptance-Rejection Scale – Short Form, Internalized Homophobia Scale and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher and the counselor were used to collect data in the study. The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS 26 program. In the analysis of the data, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation and regression techniques were used. According to the findings, the self-esteem and internalized homophobia levels of homosexual individuals differ according to their sexual orientation and livelihood. The number of groups they opened up to and their level of self-disclosure were predicted by their self-esteem, perceived social support and internalized homophobia levels. In the last section, all the findings of the research were discussed in detail; the limitation of the research and suggestion for future studies are emphasized.
