Akut gastro enterit tanılı çocuk hastaların annelerine verilen planlı eğitimin annelerin bilgi düzeylerine etkisi
Abstract
The research was designed in a quasi-experimental type to measure the effect of the planned education given to the mothers of children diagnosed with Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE) on the knowledge level of the mothers. The research was carried out between March-August 2022 in Hakkari State Hospital Infant-Child Pediatric Service Clinic. The sample of the study was determined with the G power 3.1 program and the study was completed with 43 mothers in each group. 'Question Form for Child and Mother', 'Information Form for Acute Gastroenteritis / Diarrhea' and 'Acute Gastroenteritis / Diarrhea Education Booklet' were used during data collection. In the evaluation of the data, Chi-square test, Fisher exact test, Friedman test, Mann Whitney U test, One Way Anova test and Independent t test were used. Mothers and their children in the intervention and control groups are homogeneous in terms of demographic characteristic (p>0,05). It was determined that the AGE knowledge point averages of the intervention and control groups were homogeneous before the training, and the AGE knowledge averages of the intervention group were higher after the training (p<0,001). As a result of the research, it was determined that the mothers in the intervention group had higher AGE knowledge score averages than the mothers in the control group in the post-training and discharge measurements (p<0,001). As a result of the research, an increase was observed in the knowledge levels of the mothers with the planned education in the intervention group who received the training, and positive results were obtained from the training. In line with these results, regular trainings to be planned for mothers can increase the knowledge level of mothers about AGE, contribute to the recovery processes with prevention and correct practices, and cope with this situation. Keywords: Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE), AGE education, Mother Education, Child, Diarrhea.
