Abstract
From the first moment of its existence until today, humankind has developed intellectually compared to other living creatures and learned to use language as a tool for communication. Singing has played a big part in the development of the human voice; as a communication tool, it has become a part of our lives as one of the most artistic aspects of the transfer of emotions. With this great development, mankind also developed the act of singing and advanced this accomplishment starting with religious rituals until the creation of the Art of Opera. In the meantime, it achieved the power to perform various works by improving its voice. Performing the opera is by no means an easy act. It requires tremendous strength. Controlling this strength also involves a lengthy training process. In order for a vocal instructor to train his student's voice to its possible extent, of course, he must first know the functions of the organs that make up the sound and make sure his student comprehends that. It is fundamental to maintain all the actions and habits necessary to ensure a healthy life-long protection of these organs and to turn these behaviors into a routine. In this study, the organs that make up the sound and their functional aspects in the formation of the voice are presented. In addition, soprano voices that have just begun vocal training were taken as a subject, and both sound warm up and sound cool down exercises were presented. With that, technical gains through selected works were provided for beginners in order to improve their voices. The vocal exercises presented are selected both in accordance with the works and from exercises that all vocal training students can benefit from. Emphasizing the necessity of post-performance voice cool down exercises, which have come to be known in our country in recent years and have lately begun to have a significant influence, post-performance sound cool down exercises compiled from scientific studies were suggested. In this study, considering the lack of Turkish resources, a wide foreign resource search was included, and it was aimed to provide a compiled Turkish source for the field of voice training.
