Kemoterapinin gastro intestinal sistem (GİS) kanserli hastaların beslenme durumlarına etkisi
Abstract
Gastro-intestinal system (GIS) is a system in which a large number of organs are present and the main task is digestion. Many processes such as chewing, swallowing, digestion, absorption are performed in this system. Changes in GIS cause nutritional disorders. Due to the fact that it is a system that has many organs, it is seen in many diseases in parallel with this system, which has many tasks. GIS cancers present the main subject of this research. Chemotherapy is a widely used method in the treatment of cancer. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of chemotherapy treatments in patients of GIS cancer. In the survey conducted in April-May 2019, 57 people diagnosed with GIS cancer were questioned by using questionnaire methods Chemotherapy treatment in patients with GIS cancer seems to negatively affect their nutritional status. Chemotherapy has been found to cause nausea, anorexia, stomach pain, difficulty in swallowing and feeding problems in patients with GIS cancer. In the study, it was found that nutrition in cancer patients had effects such as prolonging life expectancy, improving quality of life, and providing patient with strong response to treatment. According to the results of the study, although there was no anorexia problem in chemotherapy rooms, 38.6% anorexia problem was observed in the treatment of GIS cancer. To investigate the effects of chemotherapy in the treatment of GIS cancer, research in this area begins and researches are on the subject of GIS. Nutrition such as nausea (28.1%), loss of appetite (38.6%), moderate (1.8%), difficulty in swallowing (1.8%), feeding problems (1.8%) with chemotherapy in the treatment of GIS cancer problems were observed. Key Words: Chemotherapy, Nutrition, Patients with gastro-intestinal system cancer.
