Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı Covid 19 pandemi sürecinde Türkiye'de yaşayan 18-65 yaş aralığında bulunan sağlık çalışanlarının beslenme alışkanlıkları, besin desteği kullanımı ve sezgisel yeme arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesidir. Bu çalışma 1 Şubat 2021- 1 Mayıs 2021 tarihlerinde 252 katılımcı (208'i kadın, 44'ü erkek) üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların sosyo-demografik özelliklerini, beslenme alışkanlıklarını, antropometrik ölçümlerini, besin takviyesini sorgulayan online anket formu ve Sezgisel Yeme Ölçeği (SYÖ) sorularından oluşan online form çevrimiçi ortamda uygulanarak veriler elde edilmiştir. Katılımcıların %17,5'i erkek, %82,5'i kadındır ve yaş ortalaması 31,44±7,67 yıl'dır.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the nutritional habits, use of nutritional supplements and intuitive eating of health workers between the ages of 18-65 living in Turkey during the Covid 19 pandemic process. This study was conducted on 252 participants (208 female, 44 male) between February 2021 and May 2021. Data were obtained by applying the online questionnaire consisting of the socio-demographic characteristics, nutritional habits, anthropometric measurements, nutritional supplement of the participants and the Intuitive Eating Scale (İES) questions in the online environment. 17.5% of the participants were male, 82.5% were female, and the average age was 31.44±7.67 years. The average length is 166.5±8.51 cm and the average weight is 67.43±11.03 kg. The mean Body Mass Index (BMI) of the participants was 24.36±3,87 kg/m2. While the average score of the participants was 3.35±0.44, it was 3.46±0.39 for men and 3.33±0.44 for women. Their average score from the sub-area of unconditional permission to eat was 3.16±0.67, the average score they received from the sub-field of eating for physical reasons was 3.21±0.82, the average score from the sub-field of reliance on hunger and satiety signals was 3.58±0.79, and the average score from the body-food selection compatibility sub-field was 3.59±0.70. 27.8% of the participants use nutritional supplements, 23.8% of the participants who use nutritional supplements use nutritional supplements to maintain good health, and 4% use nutritional supplements to treat a disease. There was no statistically significant relationship between the mean scores obtained from the total score and sub-fields of the İES and whether or not to use nutritional supplements. As a result of the research, a negative and statistically significant correlation was found between the BMI values of the participants and the SCM (p<0.001). In other words, as the BMI value increases, the levels of intuitive eating decrease. Improving the level of intuitive eating will be a helpful factor in controlling body weight. In our country, more comprehensive studies on intuitive eating are needed. Keywords: Covid 19, healthcare workers, nutritional supplementation, intuitive eating
