Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the compliance of the nurses working in the intensive care unit with isolation precautions during the Covid-19 pandemic, and their state and trait anxiety levels. The research is a descriptive and cross-sectional study and 111 intensive care nurses working in the intensive care units of a Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul constituted the sample of our research. In the study, socio demographic question naire form, adaptation to isolation measures, and state-trait anxiety scales were used as data collection tools and were sent to nurses from online digital platforms. Descriptive statistics were used in the statistical analysis, Kolmogrov Smirnov test, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H tests and Spearman correlation analysis were used in independent groups. The level of significance (p>0.05) was taken when interpreting the findings. The mean age of the nurses participating in the study was found to be 29.35±6.04. 63.1% of the nurses were female, 55.9% of them were single and 74.8% of them were graduates of associate degrees. It has been determined that the average weekly working hours is 62.4±30.7 hours and 84.7% of the nurses work on shifts. The mean score of the isolation measures compliance scale was found to be 3.71±1.02, and the mean score of the State Trait Anxiety Scale was found to be 2.25±0.36. A negative and low level r=, 019 relationship was found between the nurses' State trait anxiety scale sub-dimension scores and the scale of compliance with isolation measures sub-dimension scores. It was found that intensive care nurses had a high level of compliance with isolation measures and this relationship in creased as the education level in creased; It was determined that the levels of state and trait anxiety were al sohigh, and the anxiety levels were negative lyrelated to the transmission route of the isolations cale, employee safety sub-dimension, and positively relatedto the environ mental control and hand hygiene sub-dimensions. However, it was found that there was nosignificantrelationship between compliance with isolationme asures sandstate-trait anxiety levels. It is necessary to take measures to reduce the anxiety of intensive care nurses and to carry out more extensive studies on this subject. Keywords: Intensive care unit, nurse, Covid 19, pandemic, isolation, precaution, health anxiety.
