Abstract
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı İstanbul'da faaliyet gösteren özel ortaokullardaki entelektüel sermayenin yapısını ve okul performansı ile ilişkisini incelemektir. Çalışmanın ilk üç bölümünde entelektüel sermayeye ilişkin çeşitli teori ve uygulamaları tanıtan literatür araştırması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Özel öğretim kurumlarının entelektüel sermaye ve benzeri ölçümlerle değerlendirilme süreçleri tartışılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulamasını tanıtan beşinci bölümünde çalışmanın hipotezleri ortaya konulmuş ve testleri amacıyla istatistiksel yöntemler uygulanmıştır. Bu analizlerde araştırmanın evreni kabul edilen İstanbul ilinde faaliyet gösteren 276 özel ortaokuldan geri dönen 252 okul yöneticisine uygulanan anketlerden elde edilen veriler kullanılmıştır. Verilere öncelikle betimsel analizler uygulanmış, sonuçlar çeşitli tablo ve grafiklerle sunulmuştur. Bu süreçte ileride kullanılacak modellerin varsayımları da sınanmıştır. Ardından çalışmada yer alan hipotezlerin testi amacıyla Açıklayıcı ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizleri ile Yapısal Eşitlik Modellemesi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Bu analizlerin sonucunda özel ortaokul sektörüne ilişkin entelektüel sermayenin yapısı, bileşenleri, bu bileşenlerin aralarındaki ilişkileri ve de okul performansı üzerine dolaylı ve dolaysız etkilerine yönelik bulgular elde edilmiştir. Bulgular sonuç bölümünde teorik ve ampirik bağlamlarıyla tartışılmıştır.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the structure of intellectual capital and the school performance in the private secondary schools operating in İstanbul. In the first three sections of the study, the various theories and applications of the intellectual capital in the literature were examined. The process of evaluating the private educational institutions by using the intellectual capital and similar measurements were also discussed. In the fifth section, research hypotheses and the statistical methods to test these hypotheses were presented. In these analyses, the data obtained from the questionnaires applied to the 252 school principals out of 276 principals in private secondary schools operating in İstanbul -that was accepted as the population of the study- were used. Firstly, descriptive analyses were applied to the data and the results were presented with various tables and graphs. In this process, the assumptions of the models to be used to test the hypotheses were also tested. For the inferential part of the study , Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis and also Structural Equation Modeling methods were used. The findings of these methods explored the nature of the intellectual capital of the private secondary school sector. The findings also showed that the relationship between these components and also the direct and indirect effects of them on school performance. In the conclusion section, the results were discussed within the theoretical and empirical context .
