Abstract
Kadınların %51,8'i cinsel istek azlığı yaşadığını ve %40,9'u eşinin/cinsel partnerinin cinsel isteğinin azaldığını belirtmiştir.
The aim of this study was to determine the quality of sexual life of menopausal women and to investigate the relationship between sexual quality of life and menopausal attitudes and complaints The universe of this descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of 146 menopausal patients admitted to the outpatient clinic of Kocaeli University Training and Research Hospital between August and November 2018. We wanted to work on the universe without selecting the sample, but 110 women (77.3%) volunteered to participate in the study. Ethics committee approval and work permit were obtained from the hospital before starting the data collection process. The research data, descriptive data collection form, Menopause Attitude Assessment Scale (MBRS) and Sexual Quality of Life Scale (SRS) were used. In the evaluation of the data, number-percentage calculations, Kruskal Wallis test, pearson correlation analysis, Anova test and t test were used. 53.6% of the women participated in the study were 52 years or older, 70% were not employed, 87.3% were married and 60.9% of womens stated that they felt negative emotions when they went through the menopause. 71.8% of women stated that their sexual life was neither good nor bad, and 54.5% stated that the number / frequency of sexual intercourse decreased compared to the premenopausal period. 51.8% of the women stated that they had low sexual desire and 40.9% stated that their sexual desire of their spouse / sexual partner decreased. The mean score of the positive emotional 'sub-dimension of the women's MBRS sub-dimensions was 11.13 ± 3.39, and the mean score of the negative emotional' sub-dimension was 8.90 ± 2.12; The mean score of the 'family relations' sub-dimension was 7.45 ± 2.18 and the mean score of 'behavioral' sub-dimension was 7.56 ± 2.02. The mean SESQ score of the women was 55.64 ± 13.07. There was a negative correlation between the negative emotional subscale score and the positive emotional subscale and SRS mean score, while the negative correlation was found between the 'family relations' and 'behavioral' subscales. The negative attitudes of women about menopause also have a negative effect on menopause symptoms.
