Abstract
Araştırma, yumuşak kontakt lens kullanmaya başlayan bireylere verilen web tabanlı eğitimin kontakt lense uyumu ve görme işlevine etkisini inceleyen girişim ve kontrol gruplu deneysel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evrenini, bir üniversite hastanesinin kontakt lens polikliniğine başvuran bireyler, örneklemini ise araştırma kriterlerine uyan, kontakt lens kullanan 80 hasta oluşturdu. Çalışma, kontakt lens kullanımı eğitiminde web tabanlı eğitim verilen girişim grubu (40 birey) ve broşürü kullanılarak eğitim verilen kontrol grubu (40 birey) ile gerçekleştirildi. Araştırma verilerini toplamada, Bireysel Özellikler Tanılama Formu, Ulusal Göz Hastalıkları Enstitüsü Görme İşlevi Ölçeği (NEI-VFQ-25), Kontakt Lens Kullanımı Kontrol Listesi, Kontakt Lens Uygulaması Bilgi Formu, Hekim Muayenesi Formu, Web Tabanlı Eğitimi Değerlendirme Formu ve Broşür ile Verilen Eğitimi Değerlendirme Formu kullanıldı. Verilerin analizinde; ki-kare testi, Mc Nemar testi, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro, Wilcoxon testi Friedman testi istatistik yöntemleri kullanıldı.
The study is an experimental study with intervention and control groups that examines the impact of web-based training provided for individuals, who started wearing soft contact lenses, on contact lens compliance and visual function. Individuals who applied to the contact lens outpatient clinic of a university hospital constituted the population of the study, and 80 patients who met the research criteria and wore contact lenses constituted the sample of the study. The study was carried out with the intervention group (40 individuals) who received web-based training in contact lens wearing and with the control group (40 individuals) who received training by means of brochures. In collecting research data, Individual Characteristics Identification Form, Visual Function Scale of National Institute of Ophthalmology (NEI-VFQ-25), Contact Lens Wearing Checklist, Contact Lens Application Information Form, Physician Examination Form, Web-Based Training Assessment Form and Assessment Form for Training Provided with Brochure were used. In the analysis of the data; statistical methods of Chi-square test, Mc Nemar test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro Wilk, Wilcoxon test and Friedman test were used. It was determined that the sociodemographic characteristics of the individuals in the intervention and control groups were similar, and 81.25% of them wore contact lenses due to refractive errors. In the assessment made according to the measurement months of the individuals included in the scope of the study, it was determined that the point average of NEI-VFQ-25 scale and the contact lens compliance of the intervention group were significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). In terms of complication incidence due to wearing contact lenses, it was determined that the number of complications seen in individuals in the control group was higher than the ones in the intervention group, but this difference was not found statistically significant (p>0.05). As a result, it has been observed that web-based training has a positive impact on compliance with contact lens wearing and visual function of individuals. Keywords: Contact lens, Web-based training, Contact lens complications.
