Abstract
This research was conducted to examine the relationship between mental workload and perceived stress of academics working in Turkey and is a descriptive and cross-sectional research. The sample of the research consisted of 495 academics working at universities in Turkey. 'Personal Information Form', 'Perceived Stress Scale' and 'CarMen-Q Mental Workload Scale' were used to collect data. The research was conducted with 495 academics working in Turkey between 15 May and 15 December 2023. Academicians participating in the study received an average of 27.37±7.92 points from the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS14) and an average of 3.67±0.61 points from the CarMen-Q Mental Workload Scale. Academicians; ASÖ14 score according to gender, institution quality, marital status, having children, field of science, title, administrative position, thinking about adequate and balanced nutrition, thinking about sleeping regularly, thinking about exercising regularly and receiving support for daily tasks. A significant difference was found between the mean (p<0.05). Academicians; Mental functioning according to gender, marital status, having children, field of science, titles, chronic disease status, administrative duty status, adequate and balanced nutrition status, thinking about sleeping regularly, thinking about exercising regularly, receiving support for daily tasks. A significant difference was found between the loads (p <0.05). A moderate positive correlation was detected between the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS14) and the CarMen-Q Mental Workload Scale (r=0.489).
