Cerrahi birimlerde çalışan hemşirelerde empati ve tükenmişlik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract
Araştırma, cerrahi birimlerde çalışan hemşirelerde empati ve tükenmişlik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. İstanbul ilinde bulunan bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesi cerrahi birimlerinde Mayıs-Haziran 2021 tarihleri arasında toplam 100 hemşire ile gerçekleştirildi. Veriler yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile toplandı ve verilerin toplanmasında, araştırmacılar tarafından kullanılan Kişisel Bilgi Formu ile Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği ve Temel Empati Ölçeği kullanıldı. Çalışmada uyku kalitesi kötü olanların duygusal tükenme düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu belirlendi. Mesleklerinden memnun olmayan, gelirlerini yeterli bulmayan, toplumsal imajı olumsuz olarak algılayan, iş yaşamından memnun olmayan hemşirelerin duygusal tükenme ve duyarsızlaşma düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu, kişisel başarı düzeylerinin daha düşük olduğu belirlendi (p<0,05). Daha önce empati ile ilgili eğitim alan hemşirelerin kişisel başarı düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu görüldü. Hemşirelerin Duygusal Tükenme düzeyleri ile Temel Empati Ölçeği toplam puanı arasında negatif yönlü düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ancak hemşirelerin Duygusal Tükenme düzeyleri ile Bilişsel Empati ve Duygusal Empati düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı belirlendi. Duyarsızlaşma düzeyleri ile Duygusal Empati düzeyleri arasında da negatif yönlü düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlendi. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, hemşirelerin çalışma koşulları, çalışma saatleri, gelir düzeyleri ve mesleki algıları memnuniyeti arttıracak yönde geliştirilmelidir.
The research was done descriptively. It was carried out with a total of 100 nurses between May-June 2021 in the Surgical Units of a Training and Research Hospital. The data were collected by face-to-face interview method and the Personal Information Form used by the researchers, the Maslach Burnout Scale and the Basic Empathy Scale were used to collect the data. In the study, it was determined that those with poor sleep quality had higher levels of emotional exhaustion. It was determined that the emotional exhaustion and depersonalization levels of the nurses who were not satisfied with their profession, did not find their income sufficient, perceived the social image negatively, and were not satisfied with their work life were higher and their personal success levels were lower (p<0.05). It was observed that the personal achievement levels of the nurses who had previously received training on empathy were higher. It was determined that there was a negative and low-level significant relationship between nurses' Emotional Exhaustion levels and Basic Empathy Scale total score, but there was no significant relationship between nurses' Emotional Exhaustion levels and Cognitive Empathy and Emotional Empathy levels. It was determined that there was a negative and low-level significant relationship between depersonalization levels and Emotional Empathy levels. According to the results obtained from the study, the working conditions, working hours, income levels and professional perceptions of nurses should be developed to increase satisfaction.
