Necil Kazım Akses'in '10 Piyano Parçası' eserinin incelenmesi
Abstract
The Republic of Turkey, which was introduced to Western Music from the Ottoman period, succeeded in turning it into a formal education system with the declaration of the Republican regime in 1923. Progress in music will be achieved through this education, as it has a universal and academic value in terms of performance and composition with its tradition and established patterns. Our new music system, which was launched under the leadership of our 1st generation Turkish composers, has tried to shape the unique features of our local culture in the best possible way, while ensuring adaptation with Europe. Necil Kazım Akses, the last of the names that went down in our history as the 'Turkish Five', a productive composer and a man of culture, worked throughout his life to ensure that the country assimilates, understands and glorifies polyphonic music, and ensures its continuity. As the artist whose works were most published and performed of his period, his works also made a splash abroad. It is important to reveal Necil Kazım Akses' composer identity and musical value because he is rarely included in the piano repertoire and is not known as much as he should. '10 pieces' are like a summary of the composer's music, aesthetics and style, representing his maturity period. Piano is an instrument that always attracts the attention of musicians with its wide possibilities and the audience with its rich repertoire. It is important for emerging performers and the audience to understand music without alienating itself from its own essence. In this context, Akses' '10 Piano Pieces' is a guide work with a universal dimension.
