Lise öğrencilerinde beden algısının, beslenme alışkanlıklarına ve yaşam kalitelerine etkisi
Abstract
Araştırma kapsamındaki öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 16,1±0,8 iken öğrencilerin %68,9'u kız, %31,1'i erkektir. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of high school students' perception of body on their eating habits and quality of life. The research was carried out on 225 students studying the 2019-2020 academic year. A survey form including demographic general characteristics, nutrition and physical activities, Body Perception Questionnaire(BPQ), Food Attitude Scale and Quality of Life Scale (SF-36) were applied to students. While the average age of the students within the scope of the research is 16.1 ± 0.8, 68.9% of the students are girls and 31.1% are boys. The average number of main meals of female students is 2.78, while the average number of main meals of malestudents is 3.17, and there is a statistically significant difference in the number of daily main meals consumed between two genders (p: 0,000). While 16.1% of female students participating in our study exercise regularly, 27.1% of male students exercise regularly, and this difference is statistically significant. According to the Z scores of the BMI values of the female students participating in the study were examined, 5.2% of the students were severely thin, 11.6% were thin, 79.4% were nornal and 3.8% were overweight. 5.7% of male students are weak, 90.0% of them are of normal and 4.3% of them are overweight. Men's body perception is statistically higher than female students (p: 0.018). There was a positive relationship between female students' perception of self-obesity and body perception scale results (p: 0.023). A positive correlation was found between the results of general perception of health and body perception scale values of all students who participated in the study (p: 0.049).Educations should be given to high school students in order to make them gain Healthy eating habits. In this way, increasing body perception and quality of life can be achieved.
