Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the level of sexual dysfunction and to determine the factors affecting the married women who were diagnosed with hypertension at least three months ago and who received drug treatment. The study is descriptive and cross-sectional. The population of the study was composed of 290 women who had been diagnosed with hypertension for at least three months and continued their active sexual life, and the study was completed with 140 women according to the sample calculation formula when the population is known. In order to evaluate the sexual dysfunction of the participants, the Female Sexual Distress Scale (FSDS) was used. The average age is 53.3±8.27 (min: 35; max: 70). It was determined that hypertensive women had significantly higher CFB in women with high age and low education level. The women who defined themselves as obese, who were in the menopause period and who had other chronic diseases other than hypertension had significantly higher mean scores on CESS (p <0.05). It has been found that while the number of monthly sexual intercourse decreases significantly after the women are diagnosed with hypertension, the desire to start sexual intercourse decreases. A weak positive correlation was obtained between the hypertension drug dose, systolic and diastolic blood pressure values of the women participating in the study, and the mean score of KCSS. It has been determined that hypertension increases the mean score of CLSS'in women and contributes to sexual dysfunction (CFB). For this reason, it is an important requirement to evaluate the women diagnosed with hypertension in terms of CFB and to preventive interventions.
