Yetişkin bireylerin uyku kalitesi, depresyon durumu ve yeme davranışlarının değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
Bu çalışma, yetişkin bireylerin yeme davranışları, depresyon durumu ve uyku kalitesinin değerlendirilmesi, beden kütle indeksi ile arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amacı ile yapılmış bir çalışmadır. Çalışmaya, özel bir hastanenin Beslenme ve Diyet Polikliniğine başvuran 232'si kadın, 41'i erkek 273 gönüllü yetişkin birey dahil edilmiştir. Çalışma grubuna; sosyodemografik veriler, beden ölçüsü ve beden algısı ile ilgili bilgiler, antropometrik ölçümler, beslenme durumu ile ilgili bilgiler, Hollanda Yeme Davranışı Anketi, Beck Depresyon Envanteri, Pittsburgh Uyku Kalite İndeksi'nden oluşan anket formu uygulanmış olup, bireylerin Beden Kütle İndeksi (BKİ) değeri hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada bireylerin yaş ortalaması 30.67, ağırlık ortalamaları BKİ ortalamaları 27.55 bulunmuştur. Bireylerin %38.1'inin normal kilolu, %34.1'inin fazla kilolu, %27.8'inin obez olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda bireylerde depresyon düzeyi arttıkça duygusal yeme ve dışsal yemenin düzeyi arttığı, kısıtlayıcı yemenin azaldığı bulunmuştur. Kadınların duygusal yeme ortalamaları, erkeklerden anlamlı şekilde yüksek bulunmuştur. Bireylerde BKİ arttıkça depresyon düzeyi ve duygusal yeme düzeyi artmaktadır, kısıtlayıcı yeme düzeyi azalmaktadır. BKİ arttıkça uyku süresindeki bozulma artmaktadır. Kafein tüketimi arttıkça dışsal yeme düzeyi artmaktadır. Alkol tüketimi arttıkça duygusal yeme düzeyi azalmaktadır. Su tüketimi arttıkça kısıtlayıcı yeme azalmaktadır. Öğün atlayanların depresyon ortalamaları, atlamayanlardan anlamlı şekilde yüksektir. Akşam yemeği sonrasında atıştırmalık tüketenlerin duygusal yeme ortalamaları, almayanlardan anlamlı şekilde yüksektir. Çalışmada normal BKİ aralığında olan bireylerin %52.9'unun, fazla kilolu BKİ aralığında olan bireylerin %64.5'inin, obez BKİ aralığında olan bireylerin %47.4'ünün kendilerini var olan BKI aralığında gördüklerini belirtmişlerdir. ASSESSMENT OF SLEEP QUALITY, DEPRESSION STATUS AND EATING BEHAVIORS IN ADULT INDIVIDUALS This study was done to evaluate sleep quality, depression status and eating behaviors in adult individuals and determine the relationship between body mass index. To the study, a total of 273 voluntary adult individuals joined 232 females and 41 males who were admitted to the Nutrition and Diet Clinic of a private hospital. Informations about sociodemographic situation, body size and body image, anthropometric measurements, their nutritional status, Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Questionnaire formed survey form was applied in the study and Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated. In the study, the mean age of the individuals was 30.67, and the mean of BMI was 27.55. It was found that 38.1% of the subjects were normal weight, 34.1% were overweight, 27.8% were obese. As a result of the study, it was found that the level of emotional eating and external eating increased and restrictive eating decreased as the depression level increased in individuals. The mean of emotional eating of women was found as significantly higher than emotional eating of men. In individuals, depression and emotional eating levels increase and restrictive eating level decreases as BMI increases. As BMI increases, the deterioration of in timing of sleep increases. As caffeine consumption increases, the level of external eating increases. As alcohol consumption increases, emotional eating level decreases. As water consumption increases, restrictive eating decreases. Depression means of those who skipped meals were significantly higher than those who did not skip meals. The emotional eating means of those who got snacks after dinner were significantly higher than those who did not. They stated that 52.9% of the individuals in the normal BMI range, 64.5% of the overweight BMI range, and 47.4% of the obese BMI range saw themselves in the existing BMI range.
