Abstract
Günümüz ebeveynleri ve çocukları neleri düşünüp, neye karar vermesi gerektiğini, hangi yiyecekleri yiyip, hangi kıyafetleri giyeceğini, neleri alıp nelerden vazgeçmesi gerektiğine karar verirken tek başına değildirler. Popüler Kültürün yayılmasındaki en büyük ve en tesirli alan olan kitle iletişim araçlarının, kararlarımızı verirken etkili olduğu söylenebilir. Bu araştırma, ebeveyn ve çocuk görüşleri alınarak, popüler kültür öğelerinin, çocukların günlük yaşamdaki tercihlerini ne oranda belirlediğini araştırmayı amaçlayıp, çeşitli istatistiksel tekniklerle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2016-2017 eğitim–öğretim yılında İstanbul Maltepe sınırları içerisinde okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden 249 çocuk ve 121 ebeveyn oluşturmaktadır. Çocuklara ve ebeveynlere ayrı ayrı anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan ebeveynler, '60-72 Aylık Çocukları Olan Ebeveynlerin Çocuklarının Medya Kullanımına İlişkin Görüşleri Anketi ', çocuklara ise '60-72 Aylık Çocukların Medya Kullanım Anketi' uygulanmıştır. Çocuklarla yapılan anket birebir görüşme şeklinde yapılmıştır ve sorular görselleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada istatistiksel analiz teknikleri üç ana grup altında incelenmiştir. İlk iki analizde, çocukların verdiği cevaplar, 'Yüzde ve Frekans Dağılımı' ve 'T-Testi' ile üçüncü analizde ebeveynlerin verdiği cevaplar ki-kare testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Bu araştırma sonucunda elde edilen verilere göre, ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyi arttıkça çocukların televizyon izleme sıklığı azalmaktadır. Ebeveynlerin yaş aralığı arttıkça çocukların televizyon izleme sıklığının artmaktadır. Birlikte yenilen akşam yemekleri, ebeveynlerin çocuklarıyla birlikte oyun oynaması ve çocukların dışarıda, açık alanda oyun oynaması çocukların televizyon izleme sıklığını azaltmaktadır. Ebeveynlerin çocuklarıyla birlikte popüler programları izlemesi çocukların televizyon izleme sıklığını arttırdığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Çocuklar zamanının büyük bir kısmını televizyon izleyerek ve bilgisayar oyunu oynayarak geçirmektedir. Çocuklar televizyon programlarında yer alan dizileri, sporcuları, şarkıcıları, televizyon programlarını, çizgi filmleri önemli derecede tanımaktadır. Popular culture is not alone when parents and children decide what to think about, what to decide, what foods to eat, what clothes to wear, what to buy and what to give up. It can be said that mass media, which is the biggest and most effective area in popular culture propagation, influenced our decisions. This research has been analyzed with various statistical techniques aiming to investigate how popular culture items determine the preferences of children in their daily life by taking parent and child views. The sample of the study consisted of 249 children and 121 parents who attended the pre-school education institution in the Maltepe borders of Istanbul in the academic year of 2016-2017. A separate questionnaire was applied to children and parents. Parents who participated in the study applied the questionnaire 'Opinions of children against media use to parents with 60-72 month old children' and 'Media Usage Questionnaire of Children 60-72 months' for children. The questionnaire with children was conducted as one-on-one interview and the questions were visualized. The statistical analysis techniques in the study were examined under three main groups. In the first two analyzes, the answers given by the children were analyzed by the 'Percent and Frequency Distribution' and 'T-Test', and the answers given by the parents in the third analysis by the chi-square test. As a result of this research, it is found out that the education level of the parents decreases, the frequency of television watching increases as the level of education of the parents increases, the frequency of watching television in the children increases as the age range of the parents increases, the parents get together in the evening, the children participate in the play, Together with watching popular TV programs, children are increasingly watching television. According to research findings, most of the children spend their time in the closed area and the interest of children in computer games is observed to increase. Children recognize serials, athletes, singers, television programs and cartoons in television programs at an important level.
