dc.description.abstract Cables with today's technology and professional approach through many processes are becoming more reliable. Cables that are subject to special procedures in line with customer demand, safe use is maximized. The ends of the cables which are cut into groups and cut to certain sizes are crimped by opening at a certain point. At the end of these operations, the products are taken to the test area by socketing and then taping. For cables that have been tested for possible inactivity or non-contact condition, terminal crimping is carried out by specialized machines, professional equipment and specialized equipment with the use of the most suitable devices. This paper proposes a new crimping process for cables of household devices. The suggested crimp shape is tested mechanically and electrically. Mechanical tests cover pull-out tests whereas electrical tests consist of maximum load condition tests both in COMSOL™ and laboratory environment. According to test results, the proposed crimping shape fulfils the required standards. © 2019 Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineers. en_US
