Çocuğu kanser tedavisi gören annelerin tedavi sürecine dair deneyimleri: Varoluşçu terapi süreçlerinden birer seansın nitel analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada çocuğunun kanser tedavisi nedeniyle İstanbul'a göç etmek zorunda kalan annelerin tedavi süreçlerine dair deneyimlerinin varoluşçu terapi perspektifi ile analizi incelenmiştir. Çalışmada Kanserli Çocuklara Umut Vakfı (KAÇUV) Aile Evi'nde konaklayan Türkiye'nin farklı bölgelerinden gelen, çocuğunun kanser tedavisi devam eden, anadili Türkçe olan toplam sekiz katılımcı ile, yarı yapılandırılmış yüz yüze görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Görüşmeler tematik analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Görüşmeler tanı süreci, kanser öncesi ve sonrası dört dünya kuramı (fiziksel dünya (umwelt), ilişkisel dünya (mitwelt), kişisel dünya (eigenwelt), tinsel dünya (uberwelt)) ve annelik deneyimi temaları ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgulara göre, kanser deneyimi bir sınır durum olarak deneyimlenmekte, kişilerin hayatını kanser öncesi ve sonrası olarak ayrılmasına neden olmaktadır. Katılımcıların kanser sonrası dört dünya kuramı kapsamında değişimler yaşadıkları ve annelik deneyimlerini yeniden gözden geçirdikleri görülmektedir. Mevcut çalışma bulgularının; çocuğu kanser tedavisi gören annelerin yaşadıkları zorluklara dikkat çekmesi, psikoloji alanındaki uygulamalara ve gelecek çalışmalara katkı sunması hedeflenmiştir.

In this study, we analyzed the mothers' experiences whom migrated to Istanbul in order to get a proper treatment for their children's cancer, with the perspective of experiential therapy. Participants were recruited from the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer Family (KAÇUV) – Family Home residents that migrated from different regions of Turkey. These 8 participants were Turkish speaking mothers whose children were countining cancer treatment process. Semi-structured interview techinuqe was used as the method of this research. The interviews were analyzed by thematic anaylses technique. Themes that are emerged from interviews were diagnostic process, pre-and- post cancer diagnose through Four Dimensions Theory (Physical world (umwelt), social world (mitwelt), personal world (eigenwelt), spiritual world (uberwelt)) and, experience of motherhood. Results showed that experiencing cancer is a threshold for mothers' life. Related with that these people's life has been separated in two clusters; pre-cancer living and post-cancer living. According to four dimensions theory, it has been found that participants were having changes after cancer diagnosis. In addition to this, they have reexamined their motherhood experiences. The aims of this study were drawing attention to the challenging experiences of the mothers whose children having cancer treatments and, contributing to applications in psychology field and for further studies.
