Üniversite öğrencilerinde çocukluk çağı olumsuz yaşantıları ve psikolojik belirtiler: Öz-şefkatin aracı rolü
Abstract

A total of 439 participants, 260 (40.8%) women and 179 (59.2%) men, between the ages of 18-25, who continue their undergraduate education at universities in Istanbul, with an average age of 21.26, participated in the study. The measures were used in the study; 'Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI)', 'Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Questionnaire'', ''Self-Compassion Scale' and 'Demographic Information Form' which was prepared by the researcher. While examining the analysis of the study data, the relationship between the variables was examined, the subscales of the psychological symptoms were examined separately and the established mediating models were tested. SPSS 22.0 was used to examine the preliminary and descriptive analyzes and SPSS Hayes Process Macro was used for the model tests. According to the results, ACEs; had a direct and negative relationship with self-compassion and a positive relationship with anxiety, depression, hostility, negative self-concept and somatization as psychological symptoms. Self-compassion had a direct and negative relationship with anxiety, depression, hostility, negative self-concept and somatization. Self-compassion had a partial mediating role in each of the relationships between ACEs and anxiety, depression, hostility, negative self concept and somatization. The results were discussed within the framework of the literature and suggestions were made for future studies.
