Pandemi döneminde sağlık çalışanlarında sezgisel yeme davranışı ile iş yükü arasındaki ilişki: Bir özel hastane örneği
Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the workload levels of healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic period, to measure the intuitive eating behaviors during this period and to examine the relationship between workload and intuitive eating behaviors. The research is a cross-sectional and descriptive study, and data were collected by questionnaire method. In addition to sociodemographic questions, Intuitive Eating Scale-2 and Swedish Workload-Control-Support Scale were used in the survey. It was carried out in a private hospital on 85 healthcare professionals aged between 21 and 64, 44 women and 41 men, and data were collected between December 2020 and January 2021. A negative correlation of 30.4% was found between the participants' intuitive eating and workload. As the workload increases, intuitive eating behaviors decrease. A 36.4% positive correlation was found between unconditional eating leave and workload, and a negative 21.7% correlation was found in the dimension of eating for physical reasons rather than emotions. This shows that the high workload makes it difficult to distinguish food, and that eating for physical reasons becomes difficult when the workload is high, and the workload supports the eating behavior for emotional reasons. In addition, it was observed that there was a negative correlation of 24.1% between intuitive eating and BMI. The results show that intuitive eating decreases as workload increases. In addition, as the intuitive eating increases, the BMI decreases. Resorting to strict diets distracts people from achieving long-term goals related to healthy weight control and makes it difficult to sustain a healthy life in terms of nutrition. In order for intuitive eating to become widespread and people to become conscious, it will provide positive support to healthcare professionals and all other individuals with a high workload, both in healthy living and proper weight control.
