Abstract
Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Nursing Education Program on 'HPV (Human Papillomavirus) and Its Effects on Women's Health' for Women of Reproductive Age 'Objective: The aim of this study is to implement a nursing education program on 'HPV and Its Effects on Women's Health' designed for women of reproductive age and to evaluate the program's effectiveness.' 'Materials, Methods, and Findings: The study was designed as a quasi-experimental research with experimental and control groups. The study population consisted of 262 women who visited Istanbul Eyüp Family Health Center No. 9 between March 25, 2024, and September 25, 2024. The sample comprised 84 women aged 30–49 with an active sexual life who visited the same health center during the specified period. After obtaining informed consent (Appendix-4) through face-to-face interviews, the 'Patient Information Form' (Appendix-5) survey and the 'HPV Knowledge Scale' (Appendix-6) were applied as pre-tests to both the experimental and control groups. Women in the experimental group first completed the pre-tests. Following this, the experimental group participated in the education program, and HPV screening tests were conducted. One month later, post-tests using the same forms were applied to both groups, and HPV test results were reported. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The paired The paired samples t-test was used to compare pre- and post-education knowledge levels, and chi-square and ANOVA tests were employed to examine the relationships between sociodemographic characteristics. The sociodemographic characteristics of women in both groups were similar (p>0.05). After the education program, the increase in total scores on the 'HPV Knowledge Scale' in the experimental group, compared to pre-test scores, was statistically significantly higher than that in the control group (p<0.01).' 'Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the education program on HPV and women's health significantly improved women's knowledge of HPV and its effects on health. This finding highlights the critical role of education in preventing HPV infections and encouraging participation in regular screening programs.'
