Onkoloji hastalarında anksiyete ve depresyon düzeyinin manevi bakım gereksinimine etkisinin incelenmesi
Abstract
This study was conducted as a descriptive correlational study to investigate the effect of anxiety and depression levels on the need for spiritual care in oncology patients. The research is located in the province of Istanbul; diagnosis, treatment and care services were provided at the Istanbul University Oncology Institute between February 2019 and March 2019 with 390 patients who came to the outpatient chemotherapy unit and inpatient floors of the hospital and applied for chemotherapy and accepted to participate in the study. Data were collected by using the Patient Information Form, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and Spiritual Care Requirement Scale. SPSS 21.0 package program was used for data analysis. The suitability of the variables to normal distribution was evaluated by Shapiro Wilks test, Q-Q graphs and histograms. Descriptive statistical methods (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) as well as quantitative data between the two groups were used to evaluate the study data. One Way Analysis of Variance (One-Way ANOVA) test was used for the evaluation of more than two groups of quantitative data, and Tukey HSD post-hoc test was used for the determination of the group causing the difference. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between scale scores. Linear Regression Analysis was used to examine the effect of the scale scores and socio-demographic characteristics on the total score of the MBG Scale. In this study, no relationship was found between the anxiety and depression levels and the need for spiritual care of oncology patients.
