Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the concept of emotional labor, which is called the effort spent in directing their behaviors by complying with the rules determined by the organization, and the levels of burnout in nurses who are in one-to-one communication with patients/patient relatives, briefly with people. 284 nurses working in a hospital located in the city center of Istanbul were included in the study conducted to determine the relationship between the emotional labor and burnout levels of nurses. The average age of the nurses was 28.19, and the average working time in the institution was 52.12 months (4.34 years). While the mean score of the nurses from the emotional labor behavior scale was 3.89, the mean score of the Copenhagen exhaustion inventory was found to be 65,56.
