Abstract
This study examines the reconstructive nature of the translation process within the framework of Jacques Derrida's deconstructive approach, using Mark Dunn's Ella Minnow Pea as a case study. The novel serves as an ideal example in this context due to its linguistic constraints and the creative translation challenges it poses. The thesis analyzes the French (2013), Italian (2008), and German (2004) translations of the novel, exploring the challenges faced by the translators and the strategies they employed. Subsequently, translation attempts of the novel into Turkish are presented. These analyses demonstrate that the translator is not merely a mediator but also a re-interpreter and re-creator of the text. Keywords: Translation, deconstruction, Derrida, Ella Minnow Pea, Mark Dunn
